On October 1, the vessel “ORCHID LEADER”, operated by Guangzhou Yuanhai Auto Carrier - a subsidiary of COSCO SHIPPING Specialized, smoothly docked at the Jiangyin Port area of Fuzhou Port, marking the official launch of the “Fuzhou - Persian Gulf” direct shipping route.

For this time’s voyage, “ORCHID LEADER” carried a total of 1,697 vehicles produced by local Fuzhou enterprises such as Chery and Jetour. These vehicles will sail directly along the “21st Century Maritime Silk Road” to countries along the Belt and Road Initiative, including the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, and Kuwait, experiencing this new, efficient, and convenient channel for accessing global markets.

 “ORCHID LEADER” is the largest dual-fuel car carrier to ever berth at Fuzhou Port since the port began its ro-ro operations. It has a capacity of 7,000 CEUs and can accommodate various types of vehicles and MAFI cargo (MAFI cargo specifically refers to large-sized goods that are overweight, oversized, wide, or of high value). The vessel’s LNG dual-fuel power system gives its extra edge in green and low-carbon operations, which is highly consistent with the sustainable brand image of Jetour Auto.

The “door-to-door” direct service has achieved a seamless connection for vehicles produced in Fuzhou, from the factory to the port and on to the destination port. The logistics time flow has been shortened by nearly 50%, significantly improving export efficiency.

Leveraging convenience measures at Fuzhou’s Jiangyin Port Area, such as its“24-hour customs clearance” and “direct loading upon arrival,” the “ORCHID LEADER” commenced operations immediately upon docking.
